Lara Croft is currently only confirmed to be coming to Call of Duty in the PlayStation Blog breakdown of Season 5, and not in the breakdown on Call of Duty's own website. Though this is an awesome addition to Call of Duty for fans of the beloved Tomb Raider franchise, there are questions surrounding which platforms the bundle will become available for. The post mentioned that the gaming icon's operator bundle will be made available in the middle of the season, likely as part of Season 5's potential mid-season "Reloaded" update. Briefly mentioned in the PlayStation Blog's coverage of Season 5 is the classic protagonist of the long-standing Tomb Raider franchise, Lara Croft. Now, another legend is confirmed to be joining Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as part of Season 5. This upcoming fifth season is already loaded with crossovers as it looks to celebrate 50 years of hip hop by adding legendary artists like Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, and 21 Savage to the already long roster of playable operators. Previous seasons added playable operators like Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir from Amazon's ever-popular TV series The Boys during its most recent season. TR2 is probably the better game overall, but the originality of the first game, and the Natla storyline always make TR1 the favorite in my heart.Season 5 will have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's hot crossover streak continue. Honestly the only things that I don't like about the game I know they polished up for TR2. It isn't nostalgia, it really is that good. Then they throw animals at you, then Natla's goons keep coming to shoot you. The obstacles, the traps, the simple opening of doors. The level designs are on point and the entire concept of working your way through the tomb is the greatest challenge. Boy I totally know why I love the first game. Good, but nothing fancy, significant, or remarkable. I mean, they are basically giant rooms you run through, not much to do or see, and then you complete the level. You know what's funny? When I started playing TR1, which I have played multiple times but not for a very long time now, the first 2 levels I was thinking how much I liked the game, but I must be LOVING it only because of the nostalgia factor. So what about you guys? What experience do you like more? Do you like her talking a lot, a little, middle of the road? What game surmises your perfect Lara experience? She doesn't have to verbally say, "Maybe this key will open that door" which is really annoying since, you know, I have logic. I find a key, I know I need to go back to the door it goes to. Plus, I totally love how she doesn't tell you what to do like she does in the modern games. I actually feel like I'm in a deep dark tomb all alone. It really let's you only hear the environment and background noise, making it very immersing and tense. There's frequent noise from the level (scary background noise, animals, blocks sliding etc.) but Lara herself rarely makes a peep.īasically she only makes a noise if you jump into a wall (grunts), falls a long distance and usually to your death (screams), or try to use a wrong item (she says "No").Īlthough I do miss the "ah-ha" when she picks up an item (that was introduced in the second game), I'm really loving how she doesn't make any noise. I'm playing through the original 1996 Tomb Raider again, and I'm remarking on how absolutely quiet Lara is.
